  12. I just bought an old A1000 from a junk guy for $10.
  13. It's missing a keyboard and the OS.  I believe it works because when I
  14. turn it on it puts a picture of a hand and a disk on the screen.  (I 
  15. guess it wants a Kickstart disk).  Where would I find one of these?
  16. Most of the information I have is from old Compute magazines from '85-86.

  18. Question #1:  The cheapest keyboard I can find is one for an A2000 w/ an
  19. adaptor for $75 (Software Hut) anyone know where I could get one cheaper?
  20. perhaps one like the one that actually came with it?

  22. Question #2:  I took it apart (what a pain in the ass) and was wondering
  23. about a few things.  First the front had a metal box that I assume is 
  24. memory expansion.  Does this mean its got 512k or does it mean I actually 
  25. have 256k because the kickstart uses the other 256k?  Was there ever a way
  26. to put kickstart roms in these?  Second, the 23 pin RGB (why???); can it 
  27. be adapted to regular 9 pin RGB?  Could I use my old 1902a on this machine?
  28. Someone told me the RGB had to be analog or something.

  30. Question #3:  What are the possibilities for adding a HD?

  32. Question #4:  I was also told NOT to connect any devices to the serial port
  33. (such as a modem) as it is not standard.  is this true?  Is the parallel
  34. port standard?

  36. Sorry if I rambled on, its just that this is the only machine in my collection
  37. of "junkers" that I cant get to do anything.  Any help would be greatly
  38. appreciated!
